Personal Safety week
THE FIRST ever Personal Safety Week in the Horsham District will be held in Horsham town centre from Monday 11 to Friday 18 October, with stands located outside of the Wilkinson store on the upper level of the Swan Walk Shopping Centre.
The day time event has been organised by Horsham District Community Safety Partnership and aims to help people keep safe by offering a range of service providers who can engage and inform the public on a number of key themes all linked to personal safety.
The week will include safety at home, transport safety, safety at work, younger and older persons’ safety and safety on the streets.
People taking part will be able to discuss their concerns, learn new techniques and find out about protecting themselves, how to enjoy a more secure way of life as well as the chance to purchase products designed to improve personal safety.
Agencies already confirmed for the event include Community Link Alarm, RISE, Handy Van Service, Sussex Police, Anti-Social Behaviour Team, Horsham District Council’s Community Safety, Pubwatch, Shopwatch, the Street Scene Team, Sussex Safer Roads Partnership and a number of registered social landlords.
