Well they’re no oil painting (it’s a watercolour) but death metal bands don’t need to rely so much on good looks!
Dyscarnate - a young Horsham four piece band - have managed to secure a multi-album record deal with Siege Of Amida Records for the UK and Europe.
Don’t be expecting to hear them on the radio any time soon though - you’re not likely to hear this on Steve Wright’s Sunday Love Songs.
The Feeling they are not - Dyscarnate (made up of Tom Whitty, Henry Bates, Owen Thompson and Matt Unsworth) sound like the devil who’s run out of logs for the fires of hell!
The deal marks a double success for the band, as they’ve secured a distribution deal in the US and Canada from Candlelight USA.
Drummer Matt Unsworth said: “After watching SOAR go from strength to strength over the last few years, we couldn't have hoped for a better label and we feel that SOAR will be a great home for us, giving us the opportunity to grow and bring the public the music we've wanted them to hear for such a long time!
“We're also very happy to announce that we'll be entering the studio in September/October time to record our debut full-length which is set for an early 2010 release, as well as various gigs and tours which we'll be confirming in the near future.
“At the moment we're working on pre-production for our new album, as well as considering our options with regard to producers and cover artists.”
Siege of Amida’s past and present artists include Annotations Of An Autopsy, Impending Doom, Viatrophy, Ingested, and Whitechape.
No, we haven’t heard of them either, but the label has a reputation as one of the best in the death metal business.
The band still have copies of their debut EP 'Annihilate To Liberate' available to buy and will next be performing locally at the Black Cat Club, along with some other young, local, up-and-coming metal acts on 23rd July.
By all means visit http://www.myspace.com/dyscarnate, but we advise anyone with heart trouble to avoid it!
