It was already looking like a pretty decent line-up of musicians at the Day of Rockening at The Capitol on 12th September.

But this week it has been confirmed that Dan Hawkins, former guitarist and songwriter with chart-topping rock band The Darkness, is to join up with the headlining act, Allstarz.

The band already includes ex-members of great acts including Ultravox, Flairz, Boogie Wonderland, Limehouse Lizzy, Goodfellas, and also Robin Goodridge, the drummer with one of the biggest rock acts of the 1990s, Bush.

Other highlights include the Clash City Rockers, who will be reforming for a one off performance,  and a crunching live set from Bad Boy Boogie,  the UK’s premier AC/DC tribute act.

The Day of Rockening is  a celebration of music, musicians and art that originates in Horsham, and is being held in memory of Graham Ansell, who sadly passed away in his prime in 2007.

Organiser Ian Gulliver said: “He has left behind a legacy of great management, sound and some outstanding gigs, and a lot of friends and musicians wish to pay homage to his support, compassion and great taste in music, by producing a day of live music.

“Everyone we’ve spoken to about playing has been only too happy. Too have Robin (Goodbridge of Bush) and Dan playing in particular shows how highly Graham was regarded.”

There will live acoustic music all day, including The Collector and Leah Miller, an exhibition of the musical history of Horsham dating back to the late 70's and a unique opportunity to bid on rock and roll memorabilia, including a PRS Tremonti SE guitar signed by Mark Tremonti, a punk legends T-Shirt, drum skins signed by The Stone Gods and Bush drummer Robin Goodridge, and a CD signed by The Feeling.

Money raised will go the The Graham Ansell trust.
