A charity evening is being held at The Coot pub next weekend in memory of Doug Wildman, who died in a car accident last December.
Doug’s close friends have produced over £1million worth of ‘Dougie Dollars’ for the charity race night at the Merryfield Drive pub on Saturday, 5th December - two days before the first anniversary of his fatal accident.
As well as charity horse racing, there will be a Black Jack and Roulette table with players trading in the Dougie currency.
Raffle prizes include a laptop computer, free full professional car valet service, haircuts, wine and crates of beer.
All the money raised will go to Greenway School, in support of a sports scheme that encourages youngsters to engage in games.
Steve Clarke, who is organising the event, said: “Doug was a local legend, a friend to so many so this is a way of getting something good from something so bad.”
Anyone who knew Dougie or would like to support the cause is very welcome to join the party at The Coot. It is expected that the televised racing will begin at 7pm.
