A special dance festival celebrating all things English takes place on the first Saturday in May, after the bank holiday, in Horsham Town Centre featuring dance and music around the town, plus a special medieval market with local food, drink and Sussex crafts.

Based around the well-established Day of Dance and organised by the local Broadwood Morris Men, the Day of Dance is an invitational event which regularly attracts 20 or more ‘sides’ which display at locations across Horsham Town Centre. The teams mostly perform traditional Morris (Cotswold, North West and Border), plus step clog.

The Morris dancers starts at about 10am with a procession through the town (assembling at Shelley's Fountain from 9.30-10am) and performing throughout the town centre until 3pm. The event culminates in the Carfax with a Ceilidh at the bandstand at 3pm The event is open for all spectators to come and join in.
