Bushy-tailed and blue-eyed energy bundle and pop soulstress Helena May meets powerhouse groove and instrumental funk outfit Redtenbacher's Funkestra and this 7 piece outfit will have you rocking all night conjuring their own super sassy stew of Funk/Acid Jazz/Jazz whilst building the British South-East Funk community and beyond.
They have played all over the world including the USA, Germany and Austria but often come back to their roots and can be found in London’s legendary 606 Club, as well as other favourites such as The Cooker at Ronnie Scott’s Club.
Over the year’s, Redtenbacher’s Funkestra has proudly welcomed illustrious guest musicians, including Fred Wesley, Alfred ‘Pee Wee’ Ellis, ‘Doc’ Kupka, Elliott Randall (Steely Dan), Rick Margitza (Miles Davis Group), Andy Snitzer(Paul Simon, Sting) and the NPG(New Power Generation) horn section of Prince, Incognito and The Brand New Heavies.
