Dying Matters ~ Let’s talk about it
Talking about dying and bereavement probably isn’t your idea of a good conversation. But it’s more important than you think. It may even be easier than you think. When someone is dying, or you are arranging a funeral, there’s a lot to consider - it’s then that you realise that knowing what kind of death and funeral someone wants really matters. In our experience, many of those who have died had not thought or talked about their funeral choices, causing difficulties for their families when making decisions.
As part of Dying Matters National Awareness Week, I’d like to invite you to join me in ‘the big conversation’. It’s free, informal and a chance to find out more about some of the many different options available and some of the choices you have.
My Wishes, My Way is a light-hearted, myth-busting, honest guide to providing an insight into the choices and costs around funerals. By learning what is possible, maybe even planning ahead and recording your decisions, not only can you save your family the worry of trying to discern what you would have wanted, you could also personalise your last celebration, ensuring that it reflects what is important to you.
Light refreshments will be provided and resources will be available for you to take away. You can ask questions or just take a seat and listen. It won’t be depressing and there may even be laughter. Dying really does matter, so let’s get it out in the open.
