Horsham is a cultural hub – in fact, it’s home to the oldest and largest UK video game developer, Creative Assembly. But, what actually goes on at CA, how do games get made? In this talk, CA’s Project Art Director, Rob Farrell, breaks down the core components of making a game – the expertise required and the process of bringing both art, design and programming together.
Bio: Rob has been in the games industry for 15 years, 12 of which have been at Creative Assembly. Working as an artist on multiple award-winning titles such as Total War: EMPIRE, Total War: SHOGUN 2 and Total War: ROME II, he has developed an understanding of what is needed to make a successful Total War title. Prior to this his credits include Burnout and Harry Potter with EA. Rob is now the Project Art Director overseeing a talented art team responsible for keeping with the artistic pillars of Total War and the deep traditions of CA.
