Based on the classic 80’s film starring Kevin Bacon, this rockin’ musical celebrates the exhilaration of youth and the power of forgiveness.
Ren McCormack is a regular kid from Chicago who moves to a small town called Bomont. He is shocked to discover the strict local laws, put in place by the local preacher, which bans dancing and music in public.
When the preacher’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid.
The heartfelt story that emerges pins a preacher longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him and his belief that dancing and music can help heal his community.
