Greg is the leading authority on the Royal Academy and the watercolour, having written a major study on the subject and looked at how the professional watercolourist developed in Regency Britain. As he writes “ I am locked into a massive project to produce an online catalogue of the works of Thomas Girtin for the Paul Mellon Centre by the end of 2019. We are estimating that it will reach 750,000 words with c.3,000 paintings”.

He very rarely gives talks and it is a very rare treat to have such an authority give a talk on what is cutting edge research as he is employed by one of the leading art research bodies in the world – Paul Mellon Centre.

Special Offer: Book to attend both Watercolour talks on 11 and 18 October for £18, using code RA250 upon booking
