Refugee Tales is a literary and cultural project that campaigns for an end to the indefinite detention of migrants. It promotes solidarity with refugees and detainees through story-telling, lobbying and communal walking.
Introduced by the co-organiser David Herd (poet, critic and teacher and head of the School of English at Kent University) and featuring readings by celebrated author Patience Agbabi (sought-after poet, performer and mentor who has spent over 20 years celebrating the written and spoken word). There will also be first-hand testimony from a former detainee (to be confirmed).
Refugee Tales at Christ’s Hospital is a free event to raise awareness and funds for the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group.
