Two masterworks of early 19th Century Chamber music performed by members of the CH music staff and guests.
The concert is directed and led by Head of Strings, Tim Callaghan, who will also perform with colleagues Beethoven’s String Trio Op 9 No 1. Distinguished concert pianist and composer Terence Allbright will join the strings for Schubert’s ubiquitous Trout Quintet. The most joyful and sunny of all piano quintets, the work is famous for its beautiful melodies and dazzling virtuosic writing for both piano and strings. The fifth member of the ensemble is Bart Callaghan (OB), double bass supremo; whilst at CH he became a member of the National Youth Orchestra and in his final year performed the Koussevitzky bass concerto with the CH Sinfonia.
