Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of crazy comedy and you have the Christ’s Hospital Summer production: a fun filled, frenetic version of The 39 Steps – an intriguing, thrilling and riotous comedy by Patrick Barlow.
The show which is based on John Buchan’s famous novel and Hitchcock’s 1935 film, follows the fortunes of our hero - Richard Hannay, an upstanding gentleman with a very dashing moustache who finds himself in a bit of a pickle when he wakes up to find a
mysterious woman in his apartment…. Dead!
Forced to go on the run, he is pursued by all manner of suspicious characters and the action hurtles from London to Scotland and back to London again for a sensational deathdefying finale in the London Palladium.
Can Hannay evade capture and clear his name of murder before it’s too late? Will he fall in love along the way? And what exactly are The 39 Steps
Please come and support our fantastic ensemble cast from years 03-UF and the equally brilliant CH technical crew for an evening of theatrical and ever so slightly anarchic delight!
