Ho, ho, ho. Its never to early to start thinking about a xmas comedy special. Like last year we've pushed the boat out and increased the budget for an all star line up. This is one that's not to be missed.
Opening - Marcel Lucont
Returning for a second time to The REC Rooms, hopefully with no mic issues this time...
Marcel has toured the world with his dry wit, bawdy chansons and exquisite sex poetry. Take a look at the SHOWS section to see if he will be in your town soon. If not, rectify this by inviting him there. With luck on your side and enough money to offer this privilege could be yours.
Middle - Darren Walsh
Having worked as an illustrator, animator and short-film maker, life-long Monty Python nerd and official giant, Darren Walsh decided to try his hand at Stand-up in 2010, using props and and strange sound effects he’d made in his bedroom.
Singing in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice and playing on a miniature keyboard (or Arnieoke), he would fill the gaps in between songs with a 1-liner here and there. This opened the floodgates and 6 years on Darren has written 3192 more.
A year after starting, Darren received the bronze medal at the Laughing Horse New Act new act of the year. In 2012 he was listed in Timeout’s printed edition as ‘One to Watch’, later that year going on to win the 2012 Luton Comedian of the year.

In 2013, Darren was again awarded a bronze medal at the NATYs, and then later that year won the very first Comedy Knights Fresh Comedian of the year.
Closing - Geoff Norcott
Geoff Norcott is a unique voice in British comedy. Having appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mash Report, Mock the Week and Question Time he’s built up a significant live following with sell-out Edinburgh runs and two national tours. Operating outside the usual comedic commentary on politics and social issues, Geoff has carved a real niche for himself. With a documentary, bespoke TV formats plus a UK and international tour on the horizon, 2019 is set to be an even bigger year.
