World Champagne Day in Horsham
World Champagne Day falls on the fourth Friday of October, which this year is Friday 23 October. It began in 2009 as an online movement started by Californian wine writer Chris Oggenfuss, and has grown into a worldwide toast to real Champagne: sparkling wine made only in the Champagne region of north-east France, under strict rules, from grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
In Horsham, Côte Brasserie on East Street is celebrating World Champagne Day over a whole two weeks, from 19 October to 1 November, with two glasses of Lanson Le Black Création for £15 from 4pm to 7pm every day, plus all-day offers on bottles and glasses.
You don't need to go to Reims to join in. Book a table, order a glass or a bottle and pair it with something good, from oysters to a bowl of frites. Share your toast with #ChampagneDay.
Santé! 🥂
