About Bliksem Biltong:

Bliksem Biltong is a Horsham based South African biltong business specialising in traditional, freshly sliced biltong.

The business was born out of frustration at not being able to find proper South African biltong in the UK. After years working in the London restaurant industry, we decided to start making it ourselves using traditional methods and a family recipe passed down through generations.

Bliksem biltong is made using Scotch Prime Beef from grass-fed, high-welfare Scottish cattle, cured with a signature blend of salt, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, coriander seeds, pepper and a dash of chilli. The beef is air-dried slowly in a carefully controlled environment and sliced fresh for maximum flavour. No dehydrators. No artificial preservatives. No MSG. Just proper South African craftsmanship.

We also run a Saturday biltong shop in Horsham at Unit 1, Blatchford Close, RH13 5RG where customers can buy freshly sliced biltong, chilli sticks (stokkies) and (coming soon) droëwors. We’re proud to be part of the local Horsham community and often collaborate with other independent businesses and events in the area. Dogs are always welcome too - we keep free doggy biltong behind the counter for visiting four-legged customers.
