Horsham Sports Services is a sports coaching and development company which aims to increase the quality and quantity of sport and activity opportunities available to people, particularly those located within the Horsham District area. To do this we work with schools, clubs, leisure facilities and other agencies with the aim of serving all sections of the community including children and young people, older people and disabled people.
For schools we offer a wide range of sporting pursuits ranging from mainstream and traditional team sports such as football, netball and cricket to the more unusual and niche such as lacrosse, fencing and kinball. In addition to running curricular and extra-curricular coaching we also organise a significant number of primary school competitions.
Additionally we run a number of regular programmes in the community in partnership with local sports clubs. Table tennis and netball are particular strengths in this regard.
We also deliver sport, art and play camps in school holidays which include sport-specific workshops in sports such as archery, dodgeball and tennis that can be attended specifically or by children involved in the wider general camp. These camps are highly popular offering a wide range of activity options such as go-karts, sports wheelchairs, streetsports opportunities, computer games (including virtual reality), bouncy castle use, prize competitions and pool.
We support the development and deployment of young sports leaders across a range of programmes and also work with sports clubs to access the grant funding necessary to make special projects a reality.
