About this event
On Armistice Day, Wednesday 11th November 2026, a short service will be held at the War Memorial in Horsham's Carfax at 11am, and a two-minute silence will be observed.
Horsham District Council Chairman Cllr Joanne Knowles will join members of the Royal British Legion and members of the public, including local school children, to pay tribute to and remember all those who have lost their lives in conflict.
The Armistice that ended the Great War was signed at 5am on 11 November 1918 in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiègne, France. Six hours later, at 11am, the guns fell silent.
The Royal British Legion lists its Armistice Day event from 10.30am, so you may wish to arrive early.
