The Broadwood Men’s Day of Dance will be held on Saturday, 9 May in Horsham, with the Broadwood Men and friends filling the centre of the town with colour, music and dance.
Event Schedule
Marking its 34th year, this beloved Horsham tradition promises another fantastic showcase of traditional dance spread across the town.
10:30 am: The festivities kick off with a lively parade, starting at the top of West Street and making its way to the Carfax bandstand.
11:00 am – 2:00 pm: Roughly 20 different dance sides will perform at various spots throughout Horsham. Spectators can expect a wide variety of styles, including energetic Border Morris, spirited North West, and plenty of classic Cotswold Morris.
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: The Carfax Bandstand will host a special Q&A session. This is a great opportunity for the public to chat with local Morris dancers, learn about the rich history of the tradition, and admire the intricate costumes up close.
2:00 pm onwards: All the sides will gather back at the bandstand to perform individual showcase dances, followed by an interactive barn dance for anyone eager to step in and participate.
4:00 pm: The day wraps up with a massive, inclusive farewell dance open to everyone.
