Downs Link

About Downs Link:

The Downs Link is a long distance bridleway connecting the North Downs Way and the South Downs Way National Trails. It is very popular with people on foot, cycle and horseback.

The Downs Link follows 2 disused railway lines that were closed in the 1960's and connect Guildford to Shoreham via the Surrey Hills, the Low Weald, the South Downs and the Coastal Plain.

At West Grinstead Old Station an old railway carriage serves as the Downs Link information Centre. The information centre is run by volunteers and is usually open Sundays between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

The Downs Link passes through Southwater and may be accessed under the old railway bridge on the Worthing Road (if travelling Northwards) - and at Southwater Country Park on Cripplegate Lane (if travelling Southwards).
