BokShop is an independent free-range fried chicken restaurant that has been feeding the South East since 2016. What started as a single site on East Street in Brighton has grown into a two-location brand, with a second home at Piries Place in Horsham, and a loyal following built on one stubborn idea: that fast food can be genuinely good food.

The proposition is simple but hard to do well. BokShop sources free-range chicken through a local butcher and cooks it in a pressure fryer for a crust that stays crunchy and a centre that stays juicy. No shortcuts, no mystery meat — just properly made fried chicken served in a room people actually want to be in.

The menu runs well beyond the classic bucket, with loaded wraps, burgers and plates named with hip-hop and pop-culture wordplay — Piggie Smalls, Satay Night Fever, Jennifer Buffalopez. That playfulness is structural to the brand, not decoration: hip-hop runs through the food, the music, the events and the bold, unmistakable design.

BokShop is as much a place to be as a place to eat. The Horsham site has become one of the town's liveliest evening destinations, with a weekly calendar of cocktail nights, wings nights, drinks deals and its signature Friday Lates — a beer tap, live music and a DJ into the late hours. Both sites offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery to the door.

Independent, local and proudly characterful, BokShop occupies a rare middle ground: higher quality than the chains, more fun than a formal restaurant. Nearly a decade in, it remains focused on the thing that started it all.
