Horsham Piazza Italia ran from 2006 until 2019.
Known as 'the South East's most popular free public event over the Easter period.' It was Horsham's flagship event during this period.
Piazza Italia typically featured 100s of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, other supercars, Italian motorbikes, and 'Italian Job' Minis which attracted thousands of visitors to Horsham every Easter weekend.
But Horsham Piazza Italia also had a lot more to offer, including a celebration of Italian food and drink, fashion, music, theatre, family fun, and lots more besides.
Visit Horsham, and our members were heavily involved in every Piazza Italia. For the first few years, we hosted the official website as a subdomain of Visit Horsham, but each Piazza Italia built upon its predecessor, and it eventually warranted a website in its own right.
Visit Horsham continued to play a significant part in marketing and promoting the event in all subsequent years until 2019, which sadly looks to be the last ever Piazza Italia.
One of our most memorable contributions was a competition we ran to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Piazza Italia. We offered a newly released Amazon Echo smart speaker and thought it would be fun to ask 'Alexa' to pick the winner. We were overwhelmed by the number of entries and ended up writing a computer program to connect to Facebook and count and filter the likes and comments on our original post.
