Horsham Tandoori crowned Sussex Takeaway of the Year at the "Curry Oscars"

Horsham Tandoori in East Street has been named Sussex Takeaway of the Year at the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2026, often called the "Curry Oscars".

The winners were announced at the ARTA Grand Finale at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday 12 October. Horsham Tandoori topped a Sussex shortlist of ten takeaways from across the county, from Brighton and Hove to Hastings, Eastbourne, Worthing and Bognor Regis.

    Chosen by diners

ARTA describes itself as the only official award that recognises the Asian catering industry in the UK. More than 1,250 businesses were nominated this year, with nominations coming from diners. The shortlists were drawn up using verified customer reviews, food hygiene ratings and social media engagement, so this is a win that Horsham Tandoori's customers helped to earn.

The ceremony was hosted by news presenter Samantha Simmonds and comedian Paul Sinha from The Chase. ARTA founder Mohammed Munim sent his "heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and finalists of ARTA 2026".

    Family run since 2012

Horsham Tandoori has been family owned since 2012. Its chef has more than 20 years' experience cooking for Horsham, and the team buy their own ingredients, hand-picking fresh vegetables at market. They're also happy to tailor dishes to your taste, so just ask when you order.

Congratulations to the whole team from all of us at Visit Horsham!
