Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day in Horsham 2026
Horsham will gather at the War Memorial in the Carfax to pay its respects on Remembrance Sunday, 8th November, and on Armistice Day, Wednesday, 11th November.

Remembrance Sunday: Sunday, 8th November
The Horsham Branch of the Royal British Legion is leading this year's event, in partnership with Horsham District Council.
The parade will march from 10.30am from the BT Exchange car park on North Street, along Park Way, then through East Street into the Carfax. Standards, VIPs and councillors will form up in front of the War Memorial at 10.45am.
Rev'd Canon Lisa Barnett will lead the prayers before the Last Post at 10.59am, and a two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Olivia Pinkney, will lead the wreath laying, followed by the Chairman of Horsham District Council, Cllr Joanne Knowles, on behalf of the people of the district. Wreaths will also be laid by John Milne MP, Zäl Rustom, Chairman of the Horsham Branch of the Royal British Legion, Cllr Jay Mercer and Cllr Nigel Dennis of West Sussex County Council, the Royal Observer Corps and other local organisations.
After the National Anthem and a blessing from the Bishop of Horsham, Ruth Bushyager, the parade will move on to St Mary's Parish Church for a Service of Remembrance. The War Memorial will open to the public from 11.20am.
Road closures
Rolling road closures will affect the parade route and the town centre from about 10.20am, and from 10am in East Street. Times may vary with the speed of the parade and service. Vehicles parked in the closed roads won't be able to move during this time. The event listing has the full programme and closure times.
Armistice Day: Wednesday, 11th November
A short service will be held at the War Memorial at 11am, with a two-minute silence. Cllr Knowles will join members of the Royal British Legion, local school children and members of the public to remember all those who have lost their lives in conflict.
Raise a glass to remember
The Legion's Horsham members have also helped brew To the Fallen, a beer made with Draft Pick Brewing Company, with all the money raised going to the Royal British Legion.

We will remember them.
