Horsham based local author Lee Wellings has released Lazy Susan - the second story from his Football Fables collection.

“Misogyny in football and society is sadly a timely subject. But it usually happens away from the media spotlight. Susan is a teenage Scottish footballer who is misunderstood and mistreated by men. Her bond with a woman who’d faced the same abuse decades before was emotional to write,” says Lee, who is keeping his first fables free to read online, whether or not readers have yet subscribed to his writing on Substack.

Lee spent over thirty years in journalism for BBC, ITN, Sky News and others. Last year his first book The Dilly Dong Bell was published, about big-time sport losing its way. Football Fables is his first fiction, and stories will eventually be released on the first Friday of each month. Lazy Susan’s early release is to coincide with tonight’s (Friday Sept 22) England v Scotland women in the new UEFA Women’s Nations League (live on ITV Sport).
