Spring in the Square at Piries Place
Piries Place hosts ‘Spring in the Square’ over the bank holiday weekend, with a line-up of fun-filled activities including planting workshops & pop-up live music.
Piries Place, the vibrant retail and leisure complex nestled in the heart of Horsham, is set to kick off the May bank holiday weekend with an exciting line-up of events sure to delight visitors of all ages.
On Saturday 4th May, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, Sussex Green Living will be taking centre stage in the square at Piries Place with their converted milk float, offering a host of interactive games, music and activities based around sustainability. Families are welcome to join two free potting and planting workshops at 11:30am and 3:00pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to plant seeds in peat free compost using preloved pots and decorate upcycled milk cartons. All of the creations will be yours to take away and continue growing at home. Pick from a range of sunflower seeds, wildflower seeds or dwarf french beans.
Ensure you head down early as there are prizes up for grabs, with the first fifty children to complete the 'Eco Living Quiz' winning a special takeaway gift. Embrace the opportunity to learn more about the environmental benefits of upcycling whilst having a go at growing your own goods. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, the workshops promise to be an enriching and fun experience for all. Following the green-thumb activities, why not take a spin on the wheel of eco fortune with Keith Ellis from Movingsounds, who will be entertaining crowds with interactive games and music throughout the day. You’ll also be able to browse a beautiful collection of sustainable toys, gifts and books at the FairKind Child stall. Lastly, Vegan Fest Horsham will be onsite with a range of delicious recipes, tasters and tips on living a Vegetarian and Vegan lifestyle.
On Sunday 5th May, Piries Place invites guests to relax and unwind with back to back live music from 11:00am to 4:00pm in the middle of the square at Piries Place. The event will feature talented local musicians performing a variety of genres, ensuring there's something for everyone. Starting with soulful melodies from acoustic singer Artie Godden to upbeat tunes from Big Notes Choir and finishing with the tropical sounds of Steel Tribe. Sit back and relax on the ready and waiting deck chairs and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. As the afternoon approaches, indulge in a crafted cocktail or two and delicious bites from the restaurants and bars across the square offering special bank holiday promotions.
All activity will take place in the centre of Piries Place, located in the town centre of Horsham, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot and make the most of the free festivities. You can expect a family-friendly atmosphere and a fun-filled bank holiday weekend. Here is a full run-down of the Spring in the Square events at Piries Place:
