Horsham Christmas Lights 2021 to feature TWO new designs by Horsham schoolchildren

For the 3rd year in succession, Visit Horsham, in association with Horsham District Council and Gala Lights, has run a competition inviting Horsham's school children to design a custom-made festive illumination to join Horsham Town Centre's Christmas lights.

As in previous years, a judging panel made up of Visit Horsham members had the difficult job of picking a winner. After much deliberation, they settled upon "Together Again" by Jasper Bailey, age 7.

For the second consecutive year, the coronavirus pandemic has influenced many of the children's entries. Our judges thought that the 'Together Again' message and design were a perfect way to symbolise Christmas 2021.

But there was a problem! The minimum practicable 'Together Again' design would be too large for installation in the Forum. Happily, after some debate, Horsham District Council arranged for an alternative site in the Carfax. They also suggested that the runner-up design should be installed in the original location in the Forum.

So joining our previous winners, 'Tree Rex', and 'Rainbow Christmas Tree & Shooting Star' will be 'Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney' by Holly Bulley, age 6.

Together with their families, Holly and Jasper will be invited to a photoshoot & prize-giving when their designs are in place.

We want to thank our judges for the time they have committed to the competition and the prizes they have donated to the 'goody bags' for our winners:

Amanda Jane Flowers
Annie's Closet
Brick Bus
By Jove Media
Fiesta Tots
Magic Mr Steve
Shelley's Venue Decoration
TNT Parties
Truly Chic Interiors
Weald Chiropractic & Wellness Centre

Well done to everybody who submitted an entry. As in previous years, all entries will be added to tree wraps and displayed in the town centre as in our previous competitions.
